OrthoNOW®, the nation’s only network of specialized orthopedic urgent care centers, celebrated the grand opening of OrthoNOW® Coral Way on Thursday, May 19, 2016.  The Center is located minutes away from Brickell Avenue, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables and The Roads. The Coral Way Center becomes one of ten the group will operate in Florida and Georgia by the end of 2016. The Center boasts a team of orthopedic specialists who treat broken bones, sprains, torn ligaments and muscles, cuts, sports medicine and workers compensation injuries. In attendance were influential business leaders and local dignitaries including Ambassador Bustamente (General Consulate of Peru in Miami), Marie Bell (Intergovernmental Affairs at Office of the Mayor Miami Dade County), Pat Santangelo (Public Affairs at City of Miami Mayor’s Office), Commissioner Bruno Barreiro (Miami-Dade County Commissioner of District 5, Office Mayor Carlos Gimenez), Mark A. Trowbridge (President & CEO of Coral Gables Chambers of Commerce), Howard Kane (Executive Director of Coconut Grove Chamber of Commerce), Evelio Medina (Founder & President of Brickell Chamber of Commerce) and Pete De La Torre (Master of Ceremony, Co-Founder of World Business Radio Network “WBRN”, Host of Pete Biz Radio). 

The opening of OrthoNOW® Coral Way follows on the heels of South Florida Center openings in Aventura, and Biscayne as well as its most recent Center opening in Pooler, Georgia. OrthoNOW® is a revolutionary new concept in health care offering patients a money and time-saving alternative for orthopedic and sports injuries by allowing for emergency access to orthopedic specialists.

The evening event included a ribbon cutting led by OrthoNOW® Coral Way owners Mr. Francisco Herrera and Mr. George Samarjian as well as Dr. Alejandro Badia, CEO & Chief Medical Officer of OrthoNOW® and Dr. Frank McCormick, who serves as OrthoNOW® Coral Way’s Medical Director. Dr. McCormick, specializes in orthopedic sports medicine, cartilage/meniscal/stem cell transplantation, and arthroscopic treatment of the shoulder, hip, and knee, said “It gives us great pride to be part of this vibrant neighborhood and we appreciate those who came out to celebrate our beginning. We want our neighbors to know that our medical team is ready to assess and treat injuries on a walk-in basis. We are looking forward to caring for the people who live and work in the Coral Way corridor for decades to come. “
