Now open for business in Doral
Until now, if you wanted to enjoy a hot sub from Firehouse Subs, you had to drive to the nearest restaurant located in Miami Lakes or go farther north. But since the opening of the new Firehouse Subs Restaurant in Doral, anyone living in Doral or south of Miami can enjoy the quality and flavorful subs of the franchise.
As co-founders Chris Sorensen and Robin Sorensen said in a recent video “The last thing anybody needed was another Sub shop, they needed it a better one”. So, in 1994 they started the Firehouse Subs franchise which has now more than 730 restaurants in 39 states. 20 years later, the chain continues to be one of the restaurant industry’s fastest growing brands.
“We want to make everybody feel that this is the place to call home”, said Michael Alatorre owner of the new restaurant in Doral. “We are very unique, the way we stand ourselves different is just for the great customer service. We have that one on one connection with the customer. Our meat and cheeses are quality meat and cheeses; what we do different is that we actually steam the meat and cheese and we toast the bread separately. So, it comes out a very tasteful sub and it is heavy…, it is about 4 oz. for a medium sub and 8 oz. of meat for a large sub. It has a lot of flavor and it has a lot food for the amount that you are paying,” he said.
According to a recent release from the franchise, in 2013 the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation donated more than $2.2. Millions in live-saving equipment and resources to first responders and public safety organizations. And $8.3 million has been awarded since 2005 in thermal imaging cameras (which allows firefighters to see areas of heat through smoke and darkness), extrication tools, Automated External Defibrillator (AED), stabilization tools (used to assist first responders in stabilizing overturned and upright vehicles); bunker/turnout gear; radios; inflatable rescue boats; and emergency medical equipment.
Recently the franchise presented the new Hearty and Flavorful Menu. This low calorie menu added for the first time in the brand’s history, debuted with six subs and four chopped salads, all under 500 calories.
Firehouse Subs in Doral offers online orders and a catering menu, which includes Box Menus with names such as “The Lieutenant”, sub platters, salad platters and dessert platters.

Hasta ahora, si querías disfrutar de un sándwich de la cadena Firehouse Subs, tenías que conducir hasta el restaurante más cercano en Miami Lakes o ir más al norte. Pero los “Doralinos” y quienes viven cerca o al sur de Miami ya pueden disfrutar de la calidad de los sabrosos sándwiches de la franquicia.
Como dijeron los Co – fundadores de la cadena Chris Sorensen y Robin Sorensen en un reciente video: “Lo último que se necesitaba era otro restaurant que ofreciera sándwiches o Subs, se necesitaba uno mejor.” Y así, en 1994 comenzaron la franquicia denominada Firehouse Subs, la cual actualmente cuenta con más de 730 restaurantes en 39 estados. 20 años después la cadena sigue siendo una de las marcas de más rápido crecimiento de la industria.
“Queremos que todos se sientan como en casa”, dijo Michael Alatorre propietario del nuevo restaurante en Doral. “Somos únicos, la razón por la que somos diferentes es por el excelente servicio al cliente. Tenemos esa conexión “uno a uno” con el cliente. Nuestras carnes y quesos son carnes y quesos de calidad; en realidad lo que hacemos diferente es que cocinamos la carne al vapor y el queso también y tostamos el pan por separado. Por lo tanto, se trata de un sándwich con muy buen sabor y consistente… un sub medio tiene 4 oz de carne y uno grande lleva hasta 8 oz de carne. Por el dinero que el cliente paga obtiene un sándwich con mucho sabor y con un valor agregado en cantidad de alimento por sándwich excelente”, agrego Michael.
Según un comunicado reciente de la franquicia, en el año 2013 la Fundación Firehouse Subs para la Seguridad Pública donó más de $ 2.2 millones en recursos y equipos para salvar las vidas de bomberos y organizaciones de seguridad pública. Y desde el año 2005 $ 8.3 millones han sido otorgados en cámaras de imagen térmica (las cuales permiten a los bomberos poder ver en zonas de calor a través del humo y la oscuridad), herramientas de extracción vehicular, Desfibriladores Externos Automáticos (DEA), instrumentos de estabilización (utilizados para ayudar a los primeros en responder en la estabilización de vehículos volcados); equipo de tanques; radios, los botes de rescate inflables, y equipo médico de urgencia.
Recientemente la cadena lanzó en todo el país el nuevo Hearty and Flavorful Menu. Este menú bajo en calorías, presentado por primera vez en la historia de la marca, debutó con seis sándwiches y cuatro ensaladas, todos con menos de 500 calorías cada uno.
