Doral Family Journal continues its support to the Olympic Sports in the United States.
Developed by AIBA and recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the World Series of Boxing is the first truly global boxing league with franchises in 4 continents: Africa, Americas, Asia and Europe.
With the full support of USA Boxing, the USA Knockouts, the franchise representing the United States in the league, inaugurated its 4th season on November 22th at the Miccosukee Resort & Gaming in Miami; and their second home match was held Friday, January 10th, at the same location.
“We want to make Miami the Latin Boxing Capital of the world. Along with Univision Sports it was decided that due to its capacity and proximity to all the Latin people living in Miami the Miccosukee Resort & Gaming was the ideal place to host the matches. Besides, you have to take into account that according to the World Series of Boxing competition system, the USA Knockouts could face the stunning Cuban Team, the Cuba Domadores in the play-offs in March,” said Mr. Karim Bouzidi in an interview with the Doral Family Journal.
Continuing its support to the Olympic Sports, the Doral Family Journal has signed an exclusive media and promotions contract with the Knockouts USA. “We are very pleased to have the support of Doral Family Journal for the promotion and coverage of the USA Knockouts, we know the extent and importance that the media outlet has within the Latino community living in Doral and we are convinced that the fans will follow the latest news about the USA Knockouts through the Doral Family Journal,” said Mr. Bouzidi.
The USA Knockouts’ upcoming matches in Miami are scheduled for January 17th, when the team will be facing off the Ukraine Otamans, on February 7th when the USA Knockouts will take on the Algeria Dessert Hawks, and on February 21st when the U.S will defy Germany. “The team is motivated and every day they have more strength, Latino boxers who compete for the U.S. team have been very helpful and in Miami, with the support of their fans they feel at home, ” explained Mr. Karim Bouzidi.
“I’m happy that the people was able to enjoy great boxing, the quality of the boxing was astounding, and both teams performed leaving everyone with the desire to see more fights. This is part of what the World Series of Boxing has to offer, competitive boxing and the best Olympic boxers of the world fighting in a spectacular format in 10 weight divisions and five bouts of 5 three-minute rounds each,” stated satisfied Mr. Bouzidi when we asked him about Friday’s match between the Italia Thunder and the USA Knockouts at Miccosukee.
Pedro Roque, the Cuban trainer who won the 2008 AIBA’s Coach of the Year Award and who also took eight boxers to the semifinals at the 2008 Olympic Games, is carefully guiding the training of the USA Knockouts. Although the team had a great start winning their first home match, last Friday the USA Knockouts weren’t able to win over the Italia Thunder.
But to become one of the members of the World Series of Boxing is not easy task. In order to be admitted to the league, currently recognized by more than 200 Federations worldwide, each boxer must follow a strict path. First, the boxers must train in a gym or club registered with USA Boxing –the National Governing Body for the Sports of Boxing in the United States-, they have to participate in the registered USA Boxing competitions and by doing so, they may be selected by the coaches to be part of this successful league .

Doral Family Journal continúa apoyando al deporte Olímpico en los Estados Unidos.
Desarrollada por AIBA y reconocida por el Comité Olímpico Internacional (IOC), la Serie Mundial de Boxeo es la primera liga con franquicias en 4 continentes: Africa, América, Asia y Europa.
Con el total soporte de USA Boxing, los USA Knockouts, el equipo que representa a los Estados Unidos en la liga, inauguraron su 4ta temporada el pasado 22 de Noviembre en el Miccosukee Resort & Gaming en Miami; y su 2do enfrentamiento lo tuvieron el pasado 10 de Enero también en la misma locación.
“Buscamos hacer de Miami la capital mundial del boxeo latino. Conjuntamente con Univision Deportes se decidió que Miccosukee Resort & Gaming sería la sede ideal para llevar a cabo las peleas debido al aforo y la proximidad con la gente latina que vive en Miami. Y además, hay que tener en cuenta que de acuerdo con el sistema de competencia de la Serie Mundial de Boxeo, los USA Knockouts podrían enfrentarse con el impresionante equipo cubano, los Domadores de Cuba en los play-offs en el mes de marzo, explicaba Mr. Karim Bouzidi, Director Ejecutivo de la Serie Mundial de Boxeo, en la entrevistada realizada por este medio.
Continuando con su apoyo a los deportes Olímpicos, Doral Family Journal ha firmado un contrato de exclusividad de prensa y promoción con los USA Knockouts. “Estamos muy complacidos de contar con el apoyo de Doral Family Journal para la difusión, promoción y cobertura de los USA Knockouts, conocemos el alcance e importancia que tiene dentro de la comunidad latina que vive en el Doral y estamos convencidos que los fans seguirán el camino de los USA Knockouts a través de Doral Family Journal,” dijo Mr. Bouzidi.
Las próximas peleas de los USA Knockouts en Miami se encuentran pautadas para el 17 Enero, en la cual se enfrentarán a los Ucrania Otamans, el 7 de Febrero el oponente de los USA Knockouts serán los Algeria Dessert Hawks, y el 21 Febrero desafiarán a Alemania. “El equipo esta motivado y cada día hay mas fortaleza, los boxeadores latinos que han venido a reforzar a los Estados Unidos han sido de gran ayuda y en Miami, gracias al apoyo de los fans se sienten como en casa,” explicaba Mr. Karim Bouzidi
“Estoy feliz que la gente haya disfrutado de una gran función de boxeo, hubo mucha calidad boxística y los dos equipos mostraron un show que dejo a todos con ganas de ver mas peleas. Esto es parte de lo que ofrece la Seria Mundial, boxeo competitivo y los mejores boxeadores Olímpicos del mundo peleando en un formato espectacular en 10 divisiones de peso y 5 peleas de 5 rounds de tres minutos cada una,” comentó satisfecho Mr. Bouzidi al consultarle acerca de como vió al equipo de los USA Knockouts durante su última pelea.
Pedro Roque, entrenador Cubano quien en el año 2008 obtuvo el premio otorgado por AIBA al Entrenador del Año y también fue quien llevó a ocho boxeadores a las semi-finales en los Juegos Olímpicos del 2008, es quien maneja los hilos del entrenamiento adecuado del equipo estadounidense. Aunque los USA Knockouts comenzaron ganando en su primer encuentro local, el pasado viernes no pudieron superar al equipo italiano, los Italia Thunder.
Pero pertenecer a la Serie Mundial de Boxeo no es tan fácil. Para ingresar a la liga, reconocida actualmente por más de 200 Federaciones de Boxeo del mundo, los boxeadores deben seguir un estricto camino. En primer lugar, deben entrenar en un gimnasio o club registrado ante USA Boxing -la organización que rige al Boxeo Olímpico en los Estados Unidos-, deben también participar en las competencias reconocidas por USA Boxing donde pueden ser seleccionados por los entrenadores, y así pasar a formar parte de esta exitosa liga.
