The World Series of Boxing spices up Miami for its 4th Season in the US.
The World Series of Boxing, one of the most exciting emerging sports leagues in the world, has announced the launch of its 4th Season in the US. The USA Knockouts, the Franchise representing the United States in the League, was presented today at a press conference held at the Miccosukee Resort & Gaming, where the team will host his first home match against the Argentina Condors on Friday November 22.
Developed by AIBA, the International Boxing Association, the WSB is the world’s premiere boxing league that comprises twelve National Franchises across the globe. The League marked a new era in the sport of boxing when it launched its first season in November 2010. Teams compete over six intense months, featuring 72 matches and 360 bouts before the last two remaining squads reach the WSB Finals and fight for the WSB Team Trophy over two breath-taking nights.
The WSB brings together the best boxers on the planet; including World and Olympic Champions to compete across 10 weight categories.
Fully supported by USA Boxing, the US national governing body for the sport of boxing, the USA Knockouts has entered a 37-man squad into the tournament that includes boxers from Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Venezuela… and obviously the best American talent such as Light Flyweight (46-49kg) Anthony Chacon, currently ranked #6 in the AIBA World Ranking.
The Knockouts team is looking forward to the match. Focusing on the forthcoming bout with the Argentina Condors, Chacon said: “My training is going very well and I feel very strong for the fight in Miami. I am in the best shape of my life and looking to win the match against Patrick Lourenco, from the Argentina Condors team this Friday at the Miccosukee”, he said.
There was an important inclusion to the competition this year as for the first time in the history of the WSB, Cuba has joined the league. “Cuba has always been one of the best – if not the best – boxing country in the world and it really is with huge pride that we have them competing as a new Franchise in this 4th season of the WSB”, said Mr. Karim Bouzidi, WSB Chief Executive Officer. “We are thrilled that the USA Knockouts are fighting out of Miami, Florida this year. Not only are we presenting the US Team, here in the Sunshine State, but also we understand what boxing means for the folk here in Miami, particularly for the Latin community. We believe that through the WSB, we can make the City of Miami, the Latin Boxing Capital of the World and that the United States can reclaim their spot on the top of the boxing world. It is a big dream, and it may take time, but we will get there.”
The USA Knockouts match against the Argentina Condors will take place this Friday November 22, 2013 8:30 p.m. at Miccosukee Resort & Gaming in Miami, Florida and will be televised exclusively by Univision, and live streamed on www.aibaboxingtv.com.

La Serie Mundial de Boxeo, una de las más exitosas ligas deportivas en el mundo, anunció el lanzamiento de su 4ta temporada en los Estados Unidos. USA Knockouts, la Franquicia que representa a los Estados Unidos en la liga, fue presentada hoy en una conferencia de prensa llevada a cabo en el Miccosukee Resort & Gaming, donde el equipo tendrá su primer enfrentamiento contra los Argentina Condors este Viernes 22 de Noviembre.
Desarrollada por AIBA, la Asociación Internacional de Boxeo, la Serie Mundial de Boxeo (WSB) es la primera liga de boxeo mundial conformada por doce Franquicias Nacionales de todo el mundo. La liga marcó una nueva era en el boxeo cuando lanzó su primer temporada en Noviembre del 2010. Los equipos compiten durante seis intensos meses, con 72 enfrentamientos y 360 combates, los dos equipos que logran llegar a la final pelearan por el trofeo de equipo de la Serie Mundial de Boxeo durante dos noches que quitaran el aliento.
La Serie Mundial de Boxeo reune a los mejores boxeadores del planeta, incluyendo Campeones Mundiales y Campeones Olímpicos compitiendo en 10 categorías de peso.
Con el total apoyo de USA Boxing, la organización que gobierna el boxeo en los Estados Unidos, los USA Knockouts entran a la competencia con un equipo de 37 hombres, el cual incluye boxeadores de Brasil, República Dominicana, Ecuador, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Venezuela… y obviamente el major talento Americano como el Peso Mosca Ligero (46-49kg) Anthony Chacon, actualmente número 6 en el ranking Mundial de AIBA.
El equipo de los Knockouts espera ansioso el enfrentamiento de este viernes. Enfocado en su combate contra los Argentina Condors, Chacon dijo: “Mi entrenamiento ha sido muy bueno y me siento fuerte para la pelea en Miami. Estoy en la mejor forma que puedo estar y espero poder ganar el enfrentamiento contra Patrick Lourenco, de los Argentina Condors este viernes en Miccosukee”, agregó.
Este año, por primera vez en la historia de la Serie Mundial de Boxeo hubo una importante inclusión en la competencia, Cuba se unió a la liga. “Cuba ha sido siempre uno de los mejores – sino el mejor- país de boxeadores en el mundo y realmente es con gran orgullo que los tendremos compitiendo como una nueva Franquicia en esta 4ta temporada de la Serie Mundial de Boxeo”, dijo Karim Bouzidi, Director Ejecutivo de la Serie Mundial de Boxeo. “Estamos encantados que los USA Knockouts pelearán desde Miami, Florida este año. No solamente estamos presentando al equipo de los Estados Unidos aquí en el “Sunshine State” sino también entendemos lo que significa el boxeo para la gente de Miami, particularmente para la comunidad Latina. Creemos que a través del WSB (la Serie Mundial de Boxeo) podemos hacer de la ciudad de Miami, la Capital del Boxeo Latino del Mundo y podemos ubicar a Estados Unidos entre los primeros en el boxeo mundial. Es un sueño grande, puede tomar un tiempo, pero podemos lograrlo.”
La pelea entre los USA Knockouts y los Argentina Condors se llevará a cabo este viernes 22 de Noviembre de 2013 a las 8:30 p.m. en el Miccosukee Resort & Gaming en Miami, Florida. La pelea será televisada exclusivamente por Univision y transmitida en línea en www.aibaboxingtv.com.
